About Dig

Dig Appraisals was founded by Helen Hall, a former Vice President of Entertainment Memorabilia and Iconic Collections at Christie’s, New York and London.

Helen cut her teeth working for an Antiques Dealer from the age of 16. During an internship at Christie’s auction house, Helen spent her first week watching James Bond movies to match up props and costumes being offered for sale. She was hooked. At Christie’s, Helen worked on groundbreaking auctions like Eric Clapton’s Guitars, The Estate of Marlon Brando, The Estate of Audrey Hepburn, the Paramount Studios Star Trek Collection and many others.

As a Christie’s auctioneer, Helen brought down the hammer on millions of dollars of Entertainment Memorabilia, from John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix guitars to a screen-used model of the Starship Enterprise from Star Trek, even starring in a live Star Trek auction segment aired on Late Night with Conan O’ Brien. It was quite the ride.

Helen is recognized as one of the world’s leading Entertainment Memorabilia appraisers with an extensive historical knowledge of the market. Since founding Dig in 2008, Helen has appraised over $100 Million of Entertainment Memorabilia, handled thousands of iconic objects, costumes, instruments, lyrics and memorabilia and built a global network of appraisers with specializations in Fine and Decorative Arts, Jewelry, Sports Memorabilia and Collectibles.
